We had a Wonderful Time visiting Lake Guntersville State Park in North Alabama. Lake Guntersville is the largest of four reservoirs in North Alabama created by Tennessee Valley Authority when Dams were built along the Tennessee River in the 1930’s. This Resort Area is well know for Bass Fishing, Hiking, Biking and Zip Lining !! You can enjoy Scenic drives through the Mountains and State Park with an abundance of Wildlife !! We stayed at one of the Lodge Chalets, had great dinners in the Lodge Pinecrest Dining Room. Two Other Restaurants we Enjoyed were Wintzell’s Oyster House for the Crab Cakes and Top O’ The River for there Catfish Dinner. There is so much to see and do in the Area, loved the Cathedral Caverns, Antiquing and renting a Pontoon Boat to do a little fishing !!
If you are into Wine you should visit Jules J. Berta Winery near Lake Guntersville, Family Owned, Estate Grown and Locally Farmed !! We ended up buying a Case of their assorted Wines, enjoyed the Black Widow Red !!
